When I became a first-time mother to my daughter, Devon Rain, I decided it was most important for me to be there for my daughter, especially during those early, formative years. After many years as a designer in the demanding advertising industry, I said goodbye to the working world and became a full-time Mom.

As my infant daughter grew, crawled, stood up, and took her first steps, I bought her first shoes, trying many different brands along the way. I learned that there were not many shoes on the market specifically designed for babies – shoes that truly fit the needs of their developing foot muscles and immature walking skills. Since I was always one to take on new endeavors, I started selling baby and toddler shoes in my own online store. As my daughter continued to grow, so did my home business, as well as my knowledge of children's shoes. I realized as she continued to walk, run, and play that there still wasn't a single brand of shoes that fit her needs completely.

I decided it was time to develop TipsieToes.

This was a natural, positive, and energizing way to utilize my design skills, as well as provide a quality product to other mothers just like me. My goal was to create a shoe that was durable enough to withstand harsh weather, comfortable enough for a young walker to wear all the time, and flexible enough for a child to walk, climb, or play in. I also love fun colors and designs as I believe they reflect the spirit of youth, yet I wanted my shoes to be functional enough to be dressed down for the playground or dressed up in a formal outfit. TipsieToes have the unique SuperFlex soles which bend easily to especially help with the early muscle development in their little feet. Pediatricians today recommend lightweight or flexible shoes for this very reason as this is crucial for your child to develop balance, coordination, and agility.
